It's All About the Experience...
Have you seen that "thing" in town?
STREET PEDALERS officially began in Spring 2016. We provide a unique form of advertising for local businesses and a new way of transportation for community events, your special occasion or while you are out-and-about.
Experience "transportainment" in Fond du Lac!
We primarily operate in downtown Fond du Lac as a shuttle during the Saturday Farmers Market, Gallery Night, Wine Walks, Chili Crawls and other downtown events, as well as community concert series at Thelma Center and Buttermilk Park and community events like Sturgeon Spectacular, the County Fair and Dock Spiders home games. You can also find us available by appointment from March through November.
STREET PEDALERS is not contracted to be at most venues. We are mobile billboards and want to get our clients seen as often as possible. While we don't charge a specific fare or a rate, we are not a courtesy shuttle. We rely on your sincere tips. Factors like time spent, distance traveled, number of passengers and your enjoyment may affect how you might tip. Just remember, "Enjoy your ride? Tip your guide!"
We'd love to provide a fun chauffeured pedicab ride for your anniversary, birthday, date night with your sweetie or for a large event happening in your community.

A Family Trip That Changed Our Lives...
The idea for Street Pedalers began in 2007 during a family vacation to Germany. The ride from the Cologne Cathedral to the Lindt Chocolate factory was about a mile. We hired this ultra-modern pedicab to shuttle us there. Kevin was hooked. He envisioned these pedicabs working the attractions in Fond du Lac and the concept was born.
After years of research, we found a manufacturer who sold electric assist pedal taxicab models and made the first purchase that began our business.
We developed a business plan that would work with a fleet of these bikes, similar to what we saw in Germany. Such a novel idea in Fond du Lac was a little risky, but a risk that we were ready to take.
"I had no idea if my vision would be shared by the community. I showed this idea to a few business owners in town and they were excited about the concept. We've received nothing but support and encouragement since the beginning."
A web presence was established immediately and were getting hits on our Facebook page before the bike even arrived in country. Word quickly spread about the unique advertising opportunity and the LIKE button got even more hits.
When it finally arrived Kevin got the bike on the road for the maiden voyage with passengers Chris (Kevin's wife) and their daughter-in-law. Only then was Kevin truly convinced that this quirky bike was the right vehicle for business. The reactions were priceless; everything from awe and wonder to smiles and laughter.
We are, first and foremost, an advertising business. Our mobile platform is one that certainly turns heads everywhere we go. The goal of advertising is to get people to look at you, and we certainly accomplished that. Cars pulled over to the side of the road as we approached.
"I have been photographed so many times I feel like a celebrity."
The Fond du Lac Reporter ran an article on the front page of the paper on March 11, as well as a video clip on their online version. Public recognition is evident everywhere we go. I have even been asked - Are you that guy who drives that thing?..."Yeah, that would be me."
Our passion lies in the historic downtown revitalization effort already in place. We hope that our efforts of working with new businesses, as well as established companies, will help to bring an awareness of the shopping and art districts in our city. Besides being a unique advertising medium for our downtown, we will be serving the community as a shuttle. We serve such venues as the downtown Farmers Market (helping shoppers to their vehicles), Music Under The Stars concert series at Buttermilk Park Wifler Performance Center on South Park Avenue, Dock Spider home games and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts Summer concert series. We participate any way we can to serve the community at Fond du Lac festivals like Walleye Weekend, Fondue Fest, the Downtown Art Walk, the County Fair, and many more unique happenings around town.
Street Pedalers is a Veteran Owned and Operated business; Kevin Otte was in the Marine Corps and served from 1981 to 1985. Kevin's daughter, Kaitlyn, is a secondary driver along with his wife, Chris, who also keeps the financial aspect under control and lends creative marketing expertise as needed.
We have seen such overwhelming success in our first season in that a second vehicle was added in August of 2016 and a third bike in July 2017. These bikes will help increase our reach and support into other communities in the Fox Valley and give us the opportunity to serve larger venues such as the Mile of Music in Appleton and Packer home games at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Our red, white and blue pedicabs make a bold statement and we're proud to support pretty cool area events in our area.
Street Pedalers LLC is the newest and coolest mobile advertising venue to ever hit the streets of Fond du Lac. There isn’t another one like it in the state that we're am aware of; we are already toying with the idea of franchising the brand to other surrounding communities and look forward to the future of Street Pedalers!
